A Tribute to Elder Jacob O. Meyer & Mrs. Ruth F. Meyer

March 21, 2004

Forty years ago you made a covenant commitment to Almighty Yahweh to serve Him and his Son Yahshua the Messiah until your life is ended. You have kept this commitment faithfully.

After the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread 1964 you put your commitment into action when you sold and gave away your possessions including a farm that you had but recently acquired and a mobile home that you had moved from Bethel just months previously. You packed your 1959 Ford Fairlane and a small U-Haul trailer with all your remaining possessions, and moved to Idaho to do something to help to fulfill the Great Commission.

The words of Yahshua the Messiah in Matthew 28:19-20 compelled you to action: “GO”, and you went willingly taking only your clothes and set off to serve Yahweh. “Take nothing for your journey”… Luke 9:3.

Just as the Apostle Paul recounted in 2 Corinthians 11:26, “In journeyings often, in perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses upon me daily, anxiety for all the assemblies. You have maintained this commitment through two firestorms and though you haven’t been beaten and stoned physically, you have endured these verbal trials unfailingly.

In the spring of 1964 Elder Jacob O. Meyer and Ruth his faithful companion stood alone in this journey. Now 40 years later you are not alone, but faithful brethren now stand shoulder to shoulder with you to hold up your hands and to add effort into the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Your commitment is now our commitment!

Tonight we recognize the sacrifice that you have made for the past forty years and pay recognition to both of you for your enduring faithfulness. You have fought the good fight, you have kept the Faith, as Paul stated in 2 Timothy 4:7. You have kept this commitment faithfully, and are an example to all of us of faithful endurance. If you had not made this journey we would not be here tonight. We wish to say thank you for making this journey and to thank Almighty Yahweh for reviving His Truth in these end times.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Directing Elder Jacob O. Meyer and Head Deaconess Ruth F. Meyer.

On to the fulfillment of the Great Commission!

On to the Kingdom!

This dedication and presentation was given on March 21, 2004 in the evening. This also began the New Year as observed by Yahweh’s calendar in the skies. Elder Jonathan S. Meyer offered the presentation.
