WMLK Radio Transmitter Dedication
By Gary A. McAvin
Each year it is with eager anticipation we gather to worship Almighty Yahweh and his beloved son Yahshua the Messiah at the ingathering feast known as the Feast of Tabernacles. The Feast is always a special time for the members and was very special this year because the members have waited patiently for WMLK Radio to reach a higher power output level. This year the patience of the Saints of Yahweh was rewarded!
The purpose of increasing the output power of WMLK Radio to a higher level was to ensure good coverage throughout the earth. Radio WMLK has used the 50KW unit to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of Yahweh for over 20 years (including testing). However, our overall coverage was limited by our lack of output power in many places on the earth. The need to fulfill the Great Commission requires this final message to mankind to reach every nation, kindred and tongue. Now with the expanded power capacities we will be able to swiftly accomplish this! HalleluYah!
We want to bring you up-to-date. This 250KW unit has been reassembled here at the radio station in Bethel, PA USA. (This magnificent unit was transported to this location from Italy in the year 2000.) We are in the testing phase known as the shake down stage. This is where you test each stage for viability. It was at the Feast of Tabernacles 2003 that Elder Jacob O. Meyer with his wife Ruth at his side saw this great project become a reality. Elder Meyer was able to dedicate this magnificent unit into the service of Almighty Yahweh and Yahshua the Messiah our King! HalleluYah! Elder Meyer offered up a prayer of dedication to Almighty Yahweh thanking him for all of his blessings toward this great project. Elder Meyer then turned on several switches, pushed a few sequential buttons and the unit was powered up! Wow! Was everyone in attendance excited! Finally the new transmitter was dedicated into the service of Almighty Yahweh and Yahshua the Messiah! What a wonderful blessing!
It was a beautiful day here in the bucolic area of Bethel, PA. The temperature was conducive for outside activities. The time was announced for the dedication ceremony of this magnificent unit to be devoted into the service of Almighty Yahweh and Yahshua our soon coming King! As the members approached the WMLK Radio station location, you could sense electricity in the air. The electricity of excitement and anticipation for the long awaited events of this wonderful day was something that stirred your innermost being! The brothers and sisters began lining their vehicles alongside the road that is used to approach the Radio station site. Soon the line of vehicles was quite long. It appeared that all the members in attendance at the feast wanted to be there for that special moment in time! As the members filed into the radio station, the large numbers soon filled the radio stationís open space. The only remaining place available was outside! Thankfully the weather was so nice! No one complained about not being able to come inside!
After the dedication ceremony was over, the members were given a tour. Most of the members present have only viewed WMLK in pictures offered in our publications and on our websites. The members were surprised (to say the least) at just how large the WMLK operation really is! The cooling units are very large when you stand next to them. There are two cooling units behind the radio station. One is a 40-ton Trane unit, while the other is a 78-ton custom-made unit for WMLK Radio exclusively. The members were surely impressed with the size of these two units! Overall, everyone seemed to be awed by the radio stationís size and overall operation. The main BBC 250KW transmitter is almost 20 feet long, almost 8 feet high and just short of 8 feet wide. The unit weighs over 10 tons. Wow!
Stay tuned for further developments concerning WMLK Radio as Elder Meyer continues to update everyone through Assemblies of Yahweh publications. Shalom for now
